We had another baby. A boy. We didn’t tell anyone except our families and a few close friends. Why did we keep it to ourselves? No real reason.
This past year felt like a whirlwind with everything happening so fast—pregnancy, Kindergarten, a new job for my husband, and navigating a new life without alcohol.
The pandemic and some other life circumstances put things into perspective for me—the importance of human connection and full authenticity. We mainly wanted to tell our news to those in person if and when the time was right.
As “connecting” as these online spaces may “feel” it’s really about being around others and seeing genuine reactions that make my heart full. I’m learning that openness and vulnerability is what creates deeper connections with people and I’m all for that in friendships these days!
So here we are, knee deep in the newborn stage once again. A newborn and a six year old. Sleepless nights, diaper blowouts and all the snuggles and kisses is what we’re up to lately—Maternity leave round 2!
