My hope for 2023 is to read one book per month. Sounds easy right? Well I have two kids, a full time job, and create content on the side (for fun).
That aside, I’m seeing it as creating space to sit and let myself disconnect—plus, my library hold list was starting to get overwhelming.
Here are the books I read in 2023.
January | “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle
We can do hard things! In this book, Glennon shifts the narrative and inspires women to live life on our own terms—sharing that it’s in fact ok to be your TRUE self! Ladies, LISTEN to this.
February | “Marriage Be Hard” by Kevin Fredericks & Melissa Fredericks
Marriage be hard and not a lot of people talk about that! This couple does in a hilarious, relatable, thought provoking way! We loved the questions at the end of each chapter to work through with your partner.
March | “The Minimalist Home” by Joshua Becker
This book felt like peace. It’s all about “mindfully choosing what surrounds you in your home.” It’s something that we definitely try to focus on in our own home– especially living in such a small space (with kids).
April | “Over The Top” by Jonathan Van Ness
First, I love Jonathan Van Ness’s so so so so MUCH. Easily the best entertainment and such a joy on Queer Eye. Jonathan’s book is like sitting and talking with a friend to get to know their story.
May | “Find Your People” by Jennie Allen
I wasn’t really in to this book. It didn’t do much for me. I was looking for more of a “how to find good friends that you can be real with as an adult” book…
June | “Drinking Games” by Sarah Levy
I love a good “why did you decide to stop drinking alcohol” story! This is a great one. VERY relatable!
July | “The Ride of a Lifetime” by Robert Iger
If you love Disney, this is an interesting read. Bob Iger shares his journey to Disney and some of the accomplishments and drama in between. I always wondered how all their acquirements came to be, and Iger explains it all.
August | “Euphoric” by Karolina Rzadkowolska
I loved everything about this book! The way it was written, the way alcohol and its effects are introduced, the stories. Such a great book to gift or read if you’re looking to explore your relationship with alcohol.
September | “It’s Not About the Wine” by Celeste Yvonne
If you’re a mom or know a mom–read this book! It’s such a unique perspective about wine and mommy wine culture and it will shift your perspective from alcohol to the main issue! Great read.
October | “Columbine” by Dave Cullen
This was a hard read, but an interesting read. I learned quite a bit about this tragedy. As someone that works in the Marketing/PR industry– it’s interesting the role that media played after the fact. What a nightmare.
November |”Drama Free: A Guide to Managing Unhealthy Family Relationships
Did you grow up in a complicated household? Read this book…
I was supposed to read The Golden Couple, in December…but I just couldn’t get into it, so I returned it to the library! zHave you read it? Should I retry??
