Clothing Swap

Ritual Refill in Laguna Beach recently teamed up with The Great Love Club to host a Clothing Swap. I participated with a few items in my closet. I’m working to build a capsule wardrobe, so the clothing swap was great for that.

Attending a clothing swap feels good in the sense that it helps to combat the effects of fast fashion because you’re refreshing your wardrobe without buying any new clothes.

The cool thing about a clothing swap is that it’s a sustainable way to bring new life to old clothing! Attendees were asked to bring in at least 10 items from our closet, and then we were give time to shop for the amount of items that we brought to the swap.

I brought 12 items from my closet, and ended up selecting 2 items from the clothing swap. It was nice to purge items that I could do without in my closet as I work to build my capsule wardrobe.

It’s been a lot of fun working through and figuring out what my style is. I’m looking forward to loving what’s in my closet and creating outfits from my minimally curated closet!

Have you ever been to a clothing swap? What’d you think of it?
