Santa’s Village, The North Pole and Other Holiday Happenings at South Coast Plaza

Posted in Family Fun

Santa’s Village is officially open for the Holidays at South Coast Plaza and it is pure magic. I wouldn’t expect anything less from South Coast Plaza, the premier mega mall of Orange County. Everything they do is above and beyond, so of course they would go all out for Christmastime.

The first thing we noticed was the massive Christmas display. Not only is it amazing to look at from a far, but if you look closer you’ll notice that some of the pieces actually move. There is a train that rides throughout the display! Great for photos! I spotted some selfie takin folks while we were there.

South Coast Plaza has several other large Christmas displays throughout the mall. Like this rad Christmas tree right outside of Macy’s! Our daughter was in awe (so was I).

They are some of the best displays I’ve ever seen at a mall with great attention to detail.

Santa’s reindeer have taken over Carousel Court for the Holidays. We love carousels! (I’m pretty sure our daughter has ridden 3 of them…but so far no meltdowns). So we’re going to say that carousels are a win right now.

There is a craft workshop where kids can choose an item (for a small fee) to color. Our daughter decorated a reindeer sleigh pull toy! She actually loves pull toys and will pull them all over the house and look back at them to make sure that they are keeping up with her, so this was the perfect souvenir for her.

Of course you can’t forget photos with Santa. I mean it IS his Village and all! Right now we’re in stranger danger phase so our photo with Santa didn’t go so well, but there are some amazing packages for families that you won’t want to miss. These are perfect memories for the kids and even make great photos for Holiday cards! Santa photo packages range anywhere from $9 (using your own camera) to $48 with the options for wallets, 3×5’s, 5×7’s, keychains, and digital images.

Santa’s Village is open all Center hours until Christmas Eve!

Other Holiday Happenings Include…

The North Pole, which is located in the Macy’s Home store wing on Level 1. Open during Center hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from November 18th – December 11th and during Center hours on December 16 until Christmas Eve!

Carolers, sing throughout the day to entertain and get shoppers into a joyful Holiday spirit.

A train ride that is available for $1, (or free with a Santa Photo Package purchase), and is located in the Crate and Barrel Home Store wing.

Gift Wrapping Stations, are available at Paper Source. That’s all you need to know! (Paper Source is my favorite store!!!). Ok, it’s available at Bloomingdales, Hallmark, Papyrus, and The Wrapper, as well…This is very convenient if you don’t like gift wrapping  or aren’t good at it!

**Be sure to check out South Coast Plaza this season, it’s absolutely beautiful and fun for the kids! Thanks to South Coast Plaza for inviting us to Santa’s Village to enjoy the activities!**
