With all the craziness and chaos in the world today, I often think about our daughter and how we hope to raise her to be accepting of all people and to know her identity rooted in Christ. We also hope that while she’s growing up and starting to build deeper relationships with friends, that she’s known to be loyal, someone who’s selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own. I’m so grateful to have found a children’s book series that points our kids to God in a compelling way.
This past weekend, we attended Disney on Ice, “Dream Big” in Long Beach, CA. Watching our baby girl in awe of the show brought back so many childhood memories. Seeing her giant smile gazing at the organized chaos through extremely talented and entertaining ice skaters was so cute I could’ve cried. Okay, I did!
Did you know that a lot of toys that children play with today are made with harmful chemicals? It’s pretty scary. Luckily, we can choose to make better decisions for our own health, for the health of our families and for good ole’ Mother Earth.
In the words of my dear friend Tupac Shakur, “California knows how to party!” He was right. There is nothing like the Golden State of California. I LOVE our life in California and am so excited to be raising our family here. Here are a few other reasons why I love living on the west coast:
Buy Hand is a cute little boutique shop in the heart of the HIP District in Laguna Beach. It’s owned by sisters Vidya and Kavita who opened the shop with the vision of bringing its customers the best American made products. Everything in the store is handmade, one-of-a-kind. Buy Hand recently hosted a “Grand Relocation Celebration,” themed Bollywood, at their new location in Laguna in the HIP District.
On March 24-26, the majority of the women at our church traveled to Murrieta Springs, CA for a women’s retreat. We had the opportunity to stay at the Murrieta Hot Springs Christian Conference Center. Many of us left behind our children, our husbands, our families, and all other responsibilities for a weekend away, eager to be in community with other women and spend some much needed time with Jesus.
Here is a little recap of our amazing weekend.
Well…I turned 28 this March which means I’m officially almost 30. Which also means I’m a lot wiser now, right!? 😉 I thought it’d be fun to share 28 random things you may not know about me. Here they go:
I love reading blogger’s posts where they update their readers on things they are currently reading, listening to, watching, etc. So today, to start off this mid-March week, I too am going to share what I’m currently…
Netflix UK recently announced that the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is now streaming. I LOVE that show. I mean who doesn’t?? I still know the theme song by heart! While I go bask in my 90s nostalgia, here are some of the funniest Fresh Prince of Bel Air gifs that perfectly describe some of the craziness that this crazy mom life can bring:
I recently attended the RAW (Real Authentic Women) Leadership Event by the Freedom Movement held at ROCKHARBOR Church in Costa Mesa, CA. It was an event where real women in leadership roles in ministry shared their stories of the good, the bad and the straight-up messy and how victories were discovered through their persistence, obedience and overall trust and faith in God’s promises. Here’s a recap of my takeaways:
