I recently attended the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. It was pure chaos but so much fun. This was my first time attending and so I didn’t know what to expect really. I did, however, watch a couple of videos and read a few “things to know before you go” blog posts prior to attending, but you really don’t know what to expect unless you go and experience it for yourself. If you don’t know what D23 is…the “D” stands for Disney and the “23” stands for 1923, the year Walt Disney founded his company. The D23 Expo happens every two years.
Here is a recap of some of the highlights from the D23 Expo as told from this first-time attendee.
We are headed to Disney World this summer! It will be my first time in Florida AND my first time going to Disney World. While there, we will be celebrating our 5th year wedding anniversary (a little early). I’m hoping to get the most out of this trip to Disney World because I’m treating it as a once in a lifetime vacation. I’m dramatic, I know….Here are some ways that I’m preparing our little family for this exciting vacation to the Magic Kingdom:
Since Laguna Beach is my hometown and also where our little family currently resides, I wanted to make a list of things to do in my hometown. This list is perfect for a quick trip to Laguna for the day. Laguna is such a unique town filled with creativity, inspiration and a whole lot of History. It’s impossible to really grasp all that it has to offer in one day, but with this list, you’ll tackle some pretty rad things and get a little taste of its goodness.
Not knowing what to expect during pregnancy can bring about anxiety. Then, when you become a mom, even more stress is added on while trying to figure out your “new normal.” Being a woman is freaking hard, am I right!? Here are some of the best apps for new moms and moms-to-be that will help ease some of those worries and concerns during your pregnancy and postpartum.
Pretend City Children’s Museum in Irvine, CA is an awesome place where children can learn how the real world works through imaginative play using the museums’ interactive exhibits mirroring the real world. Everything at the museum is so lifelike and real that it’s kind of funny to look at it from a child’s perspective.
Located just outside of Disneyland Parks, Downtown Disney District is the perfect mixture of food and entertainment with a little something to do for the whole family! It’s the perfect getaway when you’re needing that Disneyland fix, it’s a great date night spot, or even a pre game to your Disneyland Hotel vacation before you head to the parks. Here are some recommendations for where to eat, what to see and things to do while at Downtown Disney.
As you all know Mother’s Day sneaks up on us and next thing you know you’re last minute shopping for something meaningful/useful for your special lady. It’s time to prepare to pamper and spoil our Mamas. Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite Mother’s Day gift ideas this year…
I’ve seen so many drybars popping up around Orange County and have always wondered what they were all about. I’ve always wanted to try one to see if it’d work on my hair but have always been too scared. You guys, my hair is ROUGH. It’s thick, curly, kinky and nappy altogether. Plus, being a mom it’s pretty rare that I 1. have time to do my hair and 2. rarely want to do my hair when I DO have time.
With all the craziness and chaos in the world today, I often think about our daughter and how we hope to raise her to be accepting of all people and to know her identity rooted in Christ. We also hope that while she’s growing up and starting to build deeper relationships with friends, that she’s known to be loyal, someone who’s selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own. I’m so grateful to have found a children’s book series that points our kids to God in a compelling way.
This past weekend, we attended Disney on Ice, “Dream Big” in Long Beach, CA. Watching our baby girl in awe of the show brought back so many childhood memories. Seeing her giant smile gazing at the organized chaos through extremely talented and entertaining ice skaters was so cute I could’ve cried. Okay, I did!
